From 23 October 2023, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant level for heat pumps will increase from £5,000 (air source) and £6,000 (ground source) to £7,500.
The £450m scheme is designed to help homeowners afford the upfront costs of installing heat pumps in a bid to encourage uptake of eco-friendly heating technology. The scheme will run until 2028.
Save money on your energy bills and reduce your carbon footprint!
The scheme works on a “first-come, first-served basis,” with customers having to first register their interest with heat pump installers, like OHM Energy.
We will then apply for the £7500 grant from Ofgem on your behalf and remove that amount from your total installation bill.
You are eligible for a heat pump grant if you meet these criteria:
To qualify for a biomass boiler discount, your property must also meet high emissions standards in a rural area and have no mains gas connection.
This is an installer-led application process.
We will be able to apply for your voucher on a first come first served basis.
If you have an unused £5000 voucher, we can help you revoke it and reapply for a £7500 one.
After the new voucher arrives, you’ll have three months to use it to install an air source heat pump or six months for a ground source heat pump installation.
After the installation is complete, you’ll be able to redeem your voucher to reduce the overall cost.
For example, a heat pump that would ordinarily cost £10,000 would now only cost you £2500 (less than many pollution-emitting gas boilers).
