This system comprises of two 11.2kw Mitsubishi Ecodan ultra quiet air source heat pumps have been installed at this property to replace the existing gas boiler. The clients aim was to move away from fossil fuels and lower energy bills. The houses heat loss was large enough to warrant us combining two units together. The two units supply all the heating and hot water requirements to the property.
We have installed Nest learning thermostats throughout the property to also aid further efficiency. The client is now also able to access his heating system from his mobile phone, tablet or computer. Along with the two heat pumps we have also moved much of the equipment out into the garage including a new high efficiency hot water cylinder and buffer store. All the pumps and valves are also now located in this area so service and maintenance is straight forward. Our engineers sprnt just over a week completing this installation.
From 23 October 2023, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant level for heat pumps will increase from £5,000 (air source) and £6,000 (ground source) to £7,500. Plus, new rules mean getting the grant is easier than ever.
